Sure. Just set disableCreateUser to false, and cancel the mail sending events in the SIgn Up wizard page.

Thanks Imar,

I will keep trying to get smtp to work, but removing double-opt in for now is a quick bandaid fix.

I have another question which is probably silly, but..

When I publish everything and make it live, will I just ftp the whole folder to my domain? I'm on 1and1 and they ask for an index.html.which obviously does not exist...

Well, roughly, yes.

However, you also need to configure your database on your new host. Are you sure they support SQL Server 2005?

index.htm is apparently their default document. Most ASP.NET enabled hosts have (and should have) Default.aspx as well.

If they can't set it up, you can always have index.htm do a client side redirect with a meta tag to Default.aspx.
