CSS fixed positioning. Also done in VS by using Grid Layout.

Eric

May I suggest that resizing be a sticky. This seems to be the #1 question. It invades other threads. Some otherwise sophisticated TBH derived sites have trouble with this issue.

Sure it can. Fixed is easiest, but it's also generally not acceptable, and what's fixed on one browser may not be fixed the same way on another. Most real world sites are quite difficult to layout right. That's the kind of thing that drives me up a wall. I have to get help from more artistically talented people to make my pages look right. It's far easier to just re-architect all the other layers (DB, DAL, BLL) than to make a "simple" UI change!

I changed the TBH files to keep a static layout. I can send them to you if you'd like. Also, maybe someone can put them up on codeplex so they are available to everyone. My mark-up is very rudimentary, any comments and further mods to support all browsers, keep the columns a fixed height, etc., will be greatly appreciated.

I used the Yahoo User Interface Library grids, reset and fonts for maggot.tv - http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/grids/
It's quite easy to use, stable (all the yahoo sites are either based around it now or will be ATN). They even let you link directly to the latest version of the css file on their servers so you will automatically support the latest browsers!

It did require a redo of the Template.master but that wasnt too much of a chore.
Cheers
Si.
