I am using Other Visual Studio Solutions and adding a Website project into it.
But Profile common is not visible in my classes.
Any advice?

ProfileCommon is a dynamically-compiled class. Since you're using a web project instead of a web site, you're not using dynamic compilation.

nicely put . seriously, have you read any of this book at all?? if not i'd suggest that you do as this is covered as a concept fairly rigourously. if you haven't then your clues are:

ObjectDataSource, EditItemTemplate and InsertParameters...

c'mon, prove it's not rocket science ..

The gridview does not have a way to create new records, you need to use the detail view to add records. Gridview will only allow you to edit or display records.

Could always use a ListView instead. That eliminates the need for a separate DetailsView...
