I didn't mean 2 months of 70 hours per week! I was assuming 40 hours a week, and I also assumed you don't have much experience in ASP.NET at this point.
I didn't mean to say that Polls are "the worst". That module is working, but the presentation needs a few small tweaks. I'll probably do this soon.
The Forums are going to take the longest time because I think we should make functional changes there. But you might not agree with me - it's your site and you have to decide what changes you want.
The WinXP Firewall in SP2 should be adequate, but I would get a hardware firewall if I had DSL or a cable modem. I trust a hardware firewall more than a software firewall. If you're paying $50 a month for Internet service, then it makes sense to buy a hardware firewall - they've been coming down in price over the past year.
If you want more advice on your requirments to customize ThePhile you should tell me more about what you plan on doing with it.
1) Are you going to set it up in a hosted site for many users accross the Internet?
2) Are you going to use it on a company Intranet?
3) Will you control the web server yourself, or are you going to deploy it on "someone else's" web server?
4) Are you going to change it into a online ordering system, or anything that is different from the "Community Group" concept? Right now it's based on the idea of giving out news, and letting users share messages in a forum. If your requirement is different from this, then it might be hard to customize, and you might be better starting with a different model.

Hello Eric,
Thanks again. I don't know what to say but you are a great help here in the forums. Please Eric why you don't begin to write a book on ASP.NET 2.0 ????????????????????????????????????????
Anyway, I want to develop an online Community for Religions and people from many countries. and also I want to host it on a hosting company. I have only 1.5 month and I will do my best (I will study and work all the day maybe 13 hours daily) to finish the website. also I think I will not do many modifications except for letting readers go to the website without e-mail address or anything just browse it.
Thanks again Eric

Marenela,
I'm putting my answer to another topic that is a better match:
"Forum Features and Limitations"

People my age don't like to make a point of being old, but I graduated from college in 1981.
The IT field is very demanding - it's been getting harder over the past 5 years. Now that we have the Internet, there's been an big growth in the complexity of computer systems.
We've also seen more competition caused by people in other countries that have a lower payscale. The Internet makes it possible for people in other countries to work remotely, and so they can compete for contracts with people all over the world. This is called "outsourcing".
I don't want to scare you. Nothing is easy!
Eric

Thanks Eric,
I'm 23 years old and I'm welling and I'm going to be a good developer :D. and thanks for your posting.
Eric I need to know somethings:
1- How to control the Page Generated DataType? Unicode vs. ASCII. I know that VS.NET produce Unicode. why I will need it if my whole website is in English Language? do you think that it's better that I make it ASCII to save memory and bandwidth?
2- After I deevlop my website how to get information about my website traffic issues? it's offered by the hosting company or I must develop a module for it?
Thanks again
Marenela
