Default FileManager--cannot upload or edit

There must be a simple resolution to this....
I am developing the project on an XP box with MDSE, when i try to upload or edit a file in the file manager module, i keep getting the error: Access to path "c:\.............\file i'm trying to upload or edit.aspx" is denied.
I am an administrator on the machine, i have checked my iis permissions and folder security, not sure what else could be the problem.
something i'm overlooking?

Are you using asp.net to edit the aspx page? If so, try giving write permissions on the folder to the ASPNET user.

Try changing the EditFile.aspx page to inclucde : validateRequest="false"

like so:
<%@ Page language="c#" Codebehind="EditFile.aspx.cs" AutoEventWireup="false" Inherits="Wrox.WebModules.FileManager.Web.EditFile " validateRequest="false" %>
