If i would want to display news from a data base for "X" amount of days, how would that be done, and could it be done.

Sure, you could have a begin and end date in the database, and verify that the current date is between those dates. Or store the total amount of days and a begin date, then calculate the end date, and verify that the current date is between those dates.
