It looks as though there are different procedures for installing WroxUnited, depending on whether you are using:

- Cassini (built into Visual Web Developer Express) or IIS
- Windows XP (i.e. IIS5) or Windows 2003 Server (i.e. IIS6)
- SQL Server 2005 Express or SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition
- Visual Web Developer Express or Visual Studio 2005

The install instructions in Appendix B only cover a very limited subset of this, and even then it doesn't go without problems.

By ploughing through a number of posts on this forum, I have been able to get this working with my particular setup. However, it would have been useful to have this information up front.

Would it be possible to summarise all the information for all these different scenarios in a forum 'sticky' of some kind? I would have a go at this myself, but for the facts that a) I don't have access to all these combinations of tools to try the solutions out and b) I am not enough of an expert to really explain what I am doing.


I gather there is talk of writing a more extensive installation section for the C# version of this book. But for those of us who are using VB.NET for now, some sort of online summary would be very helpful.
