Hmm. I think you may be wanting something like this: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa139615.aspx

That will explain things such as what Namespaces you need to use to accomplish a given task, what classes they expose, etc.

hth.

I was having a hard time trying to express what I'm having problems with. I guess it's not really the PROGRAMMING part of it is it? But then again the .NET framework is programming *sigh*.

His programming concepts in the book are very easy to follow and he did a good job explaining them.

Yes. That link is exactly what I'm looking for! Perfect.

Thank you guys for your positive insights. I can't believe how many namespaces there are. This is more complicated than PHP was, but the benefits are far greater on this side of the fence :-)

Imar,

My apologies with the con section of your book. Instead for further editions of you book, you should have an introduction section on where to find parts of the .NET framework that you should use in your applications! :)

I take back what I said about the programming part of it, as I guess I couldn't express my problem properly.

Your book still gets 5 stars becuase I could successfully make an "above average" website in asp.net after reading it

All the best,

aSPC

Hi again,

(Sorry for the other reply that I deleted now. I wrote that hours before I posted it but it didn't get submitted correctly. Once my PC got out of hibernation it suddenly submitted again, hours too late. Since it was now slightly out of date, I deleted it).

I can better understand your point now. The .NET Framework is indeed huge. Just for fun, take a look here: http://blogs.msdn.com/brada/archive/...framework.aspx

There are over 11,000 types in the framework with more than 109,000 members (properties, methods and so on). Just a little bit too much to cover in a single Beginner's book... ;)

But your suggestion is a good one: point people to relevant parts of the framework documentation so they know where to find more information on specific subjects.

Thanks for the suggestion...

Cheers,

Imar
