Default Unable to find Virtual Path property in VS2012

Chapter 7 says to right click web site in Solution Explorer, open Properties Grid and change the Virtual Path property to forward slash. However, at least in Visual Studio 2012, there is no "Virtual Path" property. Options include URL, Full Path and Opened URL (all greyed out and can't be changed). But there is no Virtual Path. How do we set this property in Visual Studio 2012? I can't find any info online, and this is preventing me from progressing through the next section.

Hi there,

Are you sure you posted this in the correct forum? It sounds like you're using the 4.0 version of the book with VS 2012 / ASP.NET 4.5

The 4.5 version of the book no longer mentions this, as it's no longer there by default in VS 2012. VS 2012 now uses IIS Express which doesn't need this setting. If you want to see it, right-click the site in the Solution Explorer and choose Use Visual Studio Development Server. That switches into the "old" mode. Right click again and choose Use IIS Express to switch back.

Cheers,

Imar
