Default Figure 6.2

Hi Imar:

I loaded the code for Figure 6.2 into my working directory for the chapter and proceeded without a hitch until Step 4 on page 211. There was no style sheet in the Styles directory. I went back and picked up the styles.css file from Chapter 4 and copied it into the Styles folder, dragged it onto the Frontend.master.

No joy...

The sidebar wasn't where it should be according to Figure 6-2.

After a few minutes, I had a flat-forehead epiphany (you know...slamming the heel of your hand into your forehead while you say: "How could I be so stupid!") and remembered that changes don't take effect until they are saved. A quick Save All and FIgure 6-2 looked perfect.

As an author myself, I know what you went through to produce this book...it is extremely well-written. I may be teaching an intro web programming class and if it comes about, this is the best book I've seen for the text. Again...job very well done!

Default Educational institutions

Which brings up a good question. Do you know how many educational institutions are using your book for classroom training in .NET? I would be kind of interested in finding that information out. Maybe there might be a local college or university in my area that is actually teaching from this book. If so, I would definitely look into signing up for the class.

Thanks once again.
:-)

I have no idea. I get an e-mail from some of them from time to time, but that's all I know. Last one has been some time ago....

Default With a due respect with Imar's book...

How about any educational institution that teaches out of Wrox Books specifically on .NET?
