Default Easy to add AJAX to ListView control ?

Hello,

I was just wondering.. i am at your file upload application and i was wondering.. can i use a progress ajax control to avoid full postback into the listview? it is easy ?

Also on the page 526 you talk about performance related to the paging control. Do you have some exemple of doing the paging at the database level ? (Using skip() and etc.)

Thanks.

Hi there,

You probably want to wrap the entire ListView in an update panel instead of just an item or you won't see the inserts.

For uploads inside a panel, check out the AJAX Toolkit and the Async Upload control: http://stephenwalther.com/blog/archi...t-release.aspx

For paing: http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=...d8c3499c765087

Cheers,

Imar

BTW, since there questions are a bit more general and not directly tied to the book, you're better off posting them in a general ASP.NET 4 category here: http://p2p.wrox.com/asp-net-4-539/

That way, others can join and learn from the discussion as well.

Cheers,

Imar
