Default Your opinion on web site vs web application project?

Imar I'd like to hear your ideas re web application project vs web sites? Context either vs 2008 or vs 2010. I know your books are focused on web sites, and you explain why, but what do you think about the two approaches in general? Microsoft seems to be giving most of the juice to web application projects.

Hi there

Both have their places and use (e.g. ease of use versus support for larger apps and team development, ease of deployment versus extensive deployment scenarios) etc, so you should pick one that best matches what you're doing. I think I use both about equally divided, although MVC changes that somewhat as it requires WAP.

I think both models will remain, and Microsoft invests in both them. I think the biggest thing currently missing from web site projects are the new Publish features. Would be great if those got added to WSPs one day.
