I am trying to add an UpdatePanel in my User Control but it keeps telling me the control does not exist. Am I missing somethig?

You really need to provide a lot more detail before anybody can say something useful about this. Also, is this related to the book? If so, please specify chapter and page numbers. If not, you're better off posting this in a general ASP.NET category (http://p2p.wrox.com/asp-net-4-539/) as you'll attract more attention.
