Horizontal Banner in User Control
Hi Imar,
I am getting problem in displaying the banner horizontally. I have written exact same code and run it but horizontal banner is shown neither in master page nor in about us page. When I did not see result then I just ran the chapter 8 code (that comes with source download) as a whole website within VWD, but still it does not show the horizontal banner. Where can be the problem and what can be the fix?

Sound like you're running an ad blocker. The banner ad has a known ad size and as such may be blocked by ad-blocking software.
Cheers,
Imar

Very strange for me, as I am hearing about it for the first time.
So how I detect that software if any and how I overcome that problem?

It could be a browser plugin (try using a different browser to see if that makes a difference) or security software such as Norton or McAfee.
Cheers,

Yeah it is working in other browsers but not only in mozila. I think it is due to add-on. I have Avira Premium installed on system. Any idea about that add-on for mozila?
Still hats off to you...

Not really. Try disabling them one by one until it works...

I had the same problem, also with Mozilla Firefox. I solved the problem by renaming the image.
Banner468x60.gif -> Banner468x060.gif

Hi torbemb,
It really worked for me too. And the thing I am amazed with is that I totally changed name of image, then also it works but when I renamed it back to Banner480x60.gif, it worked fine, even I have not disabled any plugin.
Amazing behavior, if you find reason please mention it here.

I have no idea. But it seems to me, it would be best to avoid to use the name "Banner480x60.gif" on pages you Ãntend to publish.
