Default Access, ASP, DWMX & Search engine help

Access, ASP, DWMX & Search engine help.

Heya all. I am using Dreamweaver MX 04, ASP and creating a database in Access.

I am reading through the MX 2004 book which is great. The main thing I wanted to learn is how to add a search page to my website which would search the Access database. The rest of these options that I noticed in the 'Building Block' section are not required.

Can anyone suggest an easy way to do this in Dreamweaver, if this is not possible can anyone suggest which components in the book I must learn to be able to search a Access database.

Thanks to all.

Mal.

Hi Mal,

Sorry for the late answer. I was away for holidays....

Take a look at this article: http://Imar.Spaanjaars.Com/QuickDocId.aspx?QUICKDOC=241

It describes how to implement a relatively simple search engine in a web site. The engine is not as full featured as true search engines like Google, or a search engine that uses Index Server, but it may be enough for your site.

Since the article was written as an extension for TheSoccerSite (presented in the DW book) you'll find that it's easy to blend it in with the rest of the site.

Cheers,

Imar
