Default Chapter 8 Code Wei-Meng Lee

Hello Forum,

I am new to xcode and have just purchased the book Beginning iOS 5 Application Development by Wei-Meng Lee.

I have downloaded all of the code and have opened up the "Table View: code to get my teeth around the tables code.

On page 175 of the book we are asked to select the "MasterViewController.xib file to edit.

the code I downloaded does not seem to have this file and wondered if someone could give me the heads up.

being new to this, this is very frustrating not being able to follow the book instructions.

Cheers for any help.

Reg

I don't have the book, so can't refer to the page number, but in the download the project called "Tableview" there is a file called RootViewController.xib. This will be the file that you need to edit. It is the "Master" in the master/detail relationship.

Default Following Instructions in Chapter 8

Gday Bob,

Thank you clearing that up for me, I can see that now.

If I had followed the instructions and created a new project...well it makes sense and the book is correct here.

I made the mistake of thinking the book source code would be the same but it is not in this instance.

I am having some problem working with the tables code atm.

What is displayed in the xib file by default is not what is displayed aftre you alter the .plist file. Guess it just a matter of getting my head around that.

Regards,

Reg.
