Default Question about Chapter 4

Question about the House and MagicMind examples in Chapter 4. The book tells us to select Mac OS X command line project templates, but then we are instructed to create iOS Objective-C classes inside the projects. Shouldn't we be creating Mac OS X Obj-C classes instead? What's the difference between the Mac OS X and iOS templates?
