Wow, this is disappointing. Was hoping that my $60 on the Beginning PHP book was going to not turn into a technical nightmare. I'm spending weekends learning this stuff -- I've found PHP 5.2.13 for Windows XP -- after spending precious time trying to find out why there's no PHP 6.0 on the
www.php.net website -- it appears there's hoops to jump through just to get PHP6 and the Apache patch... This has turned out to be just like my day job.
I'd like to pose the question again, which has not been answered on this forum...
QUESTION:
Can we use the latest formally published copy of AMP components:
PHP 5.2.13
Apache 2.2.15
and the latest formal version of MySQL
With this book with success?
As a beginner it's my duty to set myself up for success.
I don't need another $60 boat-anchor taking up space on the bookshelf.
Kind regards.
