Yes it works, thank you very much.

If i program in PHP it works good, but when i try to connect also with MySQL
I can't
It says i can't connect.

I should have to configure something??
I tried to write the scripts of pages 85 and 86 but it doesn't connect to MySQL !

I tried to rename php.ini-dist in php.ini and to change values as described on page 11 but nothing of good...

What can i do?

Please help !!

Try XAMPP. I don´t have problems with this AMP soft. You don´t have to do to anything. Just install and ride. :)

Code:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/xampp/files/
Intall the last version 1.7.3 cause 1.7.2 doesn´t support some functions.

Default No PHP6 available w/o jumping through hoops?

Wow, this is disappointing. Was hoping that my $60 on the Beginning PHP book was going to not turn into a technical nightmare. I'm spending weekends learning this stuff -- I've found PHP 5.2.13 for Windows XP -- after spending precious time trying to find out why there's no PHP 6.0 on the www.php.net website -- it appears there's hoops to jump through just to get PHP6 and the Apache patch... This has turned out to be just like my day job.

I'd like to pose the question again, which has not been answered on this forum...

QUESTION:
Can we use the latest formally published copy of AMP components:

PHP 5.2.13
Apache 2.2.15
and the latest formal version of MySQL

With this book with success?

As a beginner it's my duty to set myself up for success.
I don't need another $60 boat-anchor taking up space on the bookshelf.

Kind regards.

Yup, you can. That's what I did. I can't really recall there being any PHP6-specific code in there at all.

That's a relief.
