Default Does the code work with register_globals off?

Hello I had php 4 but i return the book because of the register_globals new standard change. I would like to know of this new book works with the new standard of php.

Dunno if you'll get any answers, but in the meantime you can try to get the answer in other ways:

1) Go to a bookstore. The answer should be fairly obvious -- just read the first couple pages and/or browse a few of the code samples.

2) (more obvious) Don't go to a bookstore. Download the code for the book and try to run it with register_globals = off.

I would still go to the download link at the top of this page and download the source code that goes with the book to find out. My guess is since the book is newer that its examples comply with register_globals = off.

Other than that I don't understand your last statement, if you meant register_globals = on, then code written for register_globals = off works regardless of the register_globals setting! (The default value for the configuration directive is off BTW)
