Yeah you can use Macromedia Dreamviewer MX for this and for free editors you can use following link. I hope it will help you

Also, Appendix F of the book compares 12 of the most popular text editors, with an apples-to-apples chart and links to all 12.

I haven't used this in a while, but Edit Plus ( www.editplus.com) supports PHP.
I use CuteHTML ( www.globalscape.com) which gets in the way when coding, but the benefits outweigh the hindrances.

I use phpedit which i found it really useful. It has an autocompletion feature which for a newbie helps a lot.

Well, VIM will handle any type of file you throw at it. However it is a bit 'unique' to work with. It is free, and works well once you get up to speed with it.
I use Dreamweaver/Homesite, when I am not using VIM. Ihave tried Crimson, Maguma's product, and PSPad.
Maguma was flakey, very flakey.
Crimson is probably the best graphical editor, with PSPad very close behind. Either will do a fine job for no cost.

I personally use textpad http://www.textpad.com
It allows me to look at almost any language with colored syntax and advanced regular expression search and replace.

You know, the book says that phpedit is free and someone in this thread says the same thing. I went to their website,
www.phpedit.com and they offer a free trial, but it's about $100 after the trial. Am I going to the wrong place?????
thanks,
Pat

No you are not. You can apply for a free license if you use it for non-commercial projects
