Default Still having problem with PWS /PHP

I have gone through numerous sites and forums to find solution to my problem. Here it goes:

I have tried installing PWS and PHP on windows 98 machine. For php, downloaded and installed phptriad.(http://sf.net)

I have made the editing of registry and also changed the file path in the php4isapi file in SAPI folder. I have also remove all comp and re-installed PWS.

But, when i try to run a php page on the IE browser, a dialogue box prompt to save the file.

On the other hand, ASP page runs with no problem at all.

Why is it so?

Pls kindly help. Thank you!

I was neither able to get nor find someone else to help get PWS/PHP working on Windows/98. However, after uninstalling them and installing EasyPHP everything worked perfectly right off the bat.

Ok, your first problem is you are installing two HTTP servers and not one, which could be causing you conflicts. PHPTriad already comes with an HTTP server, Apache. Therefore you have to choose one or the other. And if you choose PWS, you need to make sure that Apache isn't starting or is configured to listen to a port other than 80.

Since you can run an ASP page it sounds like PWS is working, but because you get a saveas dialouge, you haven't associated .php extensions with PHP in PWS.

Go here for instructions:

HTH!

Regards,
Rich
