THANKS
I was able to google for help and I came across that exact solution. I set my appconfig settings an remember datasource is one word in the settings file and two words in the code. Also, my appconfig changes did not change automatically when I used the code editor to modify and add them. But, once I opened the property pages on My Project, the dialog box had a message indicating that changes had been made and did I want to save them. I answered yes and my appconfig file was updated. I also used Oledb.OledbDbConnection, Oledb.oleDbCommand, Oledb.OledbdataAdapter, and Oledb.OledbDataReader and my declaration problems went away. I don't know if I forgot to import something or what but all is working now. I just need to follow the book and make sure everything is working. I guess being a good troubleshooter is alway a necessary skill. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
