Default Visual Studios?

The last six months I have been designing windows applications in VB.net and didn't realize that you could also design complete applications in C++ and C#. Is one language better than another for windows applications? Can you have an application that uses code from vb.net, c++, and C#?

Forgive my posting in this forum but I can't find a general visual studio forum.
