Alternative to Codeplot?
I'm working my way through the Beginning XML guide, and am having issues with XML validation, as the Codeplot site seems to be down almost all of the time. Is there another XML validator available on the web, which can be used to validate XML files against schemas?
Thanks,
Peter Floyd

Peter: I'm checking with Jeff to see what we can do to get Codeplot running more reliably. Hopefully we'll have a solution.

Jeff has moved CodePlot to a new server. He says "It should be extremely stable, faster, and easier to develop against from here on out so we shouldn't see any more problems. "
So, fingers crossed it will work well for you and everyone else now.

I too found Codeplot frustrating and slow. perhaps its better now.
I found a cool little app called XML copy ( https://sourceforge.net/projects/xml-copy-editor/) that does validation from the desktop. Worked for the first bunch of chapters...
There are better closed source editors, but I choose to support open source projects for their development.

I get the following message anytime I try to validate any xml statements:
[Initialize] Unable to instantiate parser: Java heap space
I've tried Firefox and IE7 on 3 different computers (1 Mac, 2 Vista).

I'm getting that Java heap space error as well.
I'll give that xml copy editor a try.

Sorry for the problems everyone, Codeplot is undergoing some changes to add new features users have been requesting, looks like we created the Java Heap Space problem along the way. Should be fixed now.
Thanks,
Jeff Rafter

Is codeplot down? I'm trying to use it. It appears to save documents, but does not validate.
