well i'd suggest to read more about programming excel, something like this will get the text entered into a cell on a worksheet:
Code:
Sub sGetTextFromSheet()
Dim St As String
St = Sheet1.Range("A1").Value
End Sub

thanks a lot
i have however run into another problem. in my simulation model, after reading data from excel, i would like to design and code a userform that will (at the beginning of the simulation run) prompt me to choose a dispatch rule from a combo box or list box. in other words i want to analyse multiple scenarios using different dispatch rules e.g shortest processing time, earliest due date, etc. my problem now is to write code that would allow me to chose the dispatch rule and then click ok. thanks in advance
