Downloads
Hi,
I went to download the code for this book but the downloads are in rar format, not zip format as mentioned in the book. I also purchased the 2003 VBA Programmers Book and those downloads are in zip format. Can I get this book's downloads in zip format so I don't have to install/buy another de-compression tool?
Thanks,
Alexis

The download files used to be in .zip format about a month ago, because I downloaded 3 .zip files. Why they have changed the archive format beats the "rar" out of me. BTW, a trial version of the software is available. I downloaded/installed WinRAR. It installed flawlessly and I was able to easily extract (uncompress) a .rar file.
But, I agree ... why would you want to install/buy another de-compression tool?

In addition to different format, they are now in about 17 different files. I was frustrated initially when I had do the download process three times for the original ZIP files that were there.
How about putting back an option to get them all in 1-3 large Downloads. That, and ZIP option also.
DL page has choices of HTTP or FTP. I suspect that most users don't care and would probably prefer choices of ZIP/RAR and Large/Individual DL sizes.
Customer Service means servicing the product customers' needs, not those of the web page developer.
These comments are all directed to wrox, not to Helen's work. But perhaps she may agree and have some influence?

Yes, I guess I will return my copy to Borders.
Looks like a good book, but a clear message has to be sent to publishers.
I don't have time to mess with installing new programs just to download zip files, nor to do individual file downloads.
Give me the option, as stated in the book, to use my favorite zip program, and to down load ONE zip file.
By the way. Be careful or this program set itself as your new default zip program.
Sorry, Helen.
Boo hiss.

I provided zip files to Wiley (that is the format I use myself -- I have never heard of the rar format). The folks at Wiley are working on this problem, and there should be zip files to download shortly -- unfortunately I don't know the exact date to expect them.

I grabbed the files for chapters 1, 2, and 3, yesterday and all were in Zip format. No problems at all

BTW, the LNC Rename Add-in is (oddly enough) included with the Chapter 9 files (though it's referenced in Chapter 2 of the book). The Design Schemes Add-in is included with Chapter 2 files (as it should be).

Download 7-Zip from http://sourceforge.net/projects/sevenzip/
Its free and handles everything. Zip format sucks and WinZip does not provide the best compression.
