When ToDoList first starts in the AVD, the keyboard is set to type Chinese/Japanese characters. The screen keyboard has a button which can switch to English but this seems like it is abnormal to me.

Any suggestions why this is happening?

I was wondering the same thing, so here's a bump.

I have found that you can click the keyboard settings and set your language to English and this fixes things, but I would like a way to persist this so I don't have to do it every time I start my AVD.

Still don't know why this is happening but I found that, if I use the Android 2.2 target for the AVD, this nuisance goes away.

I am using Android 2.0 and API level 5 and I didn't even find the button for switching to English, does anyone have the solution for this?
