Default Nested Webparts or WebZone in Webpart

Hi there!.
First thank you for your brilliant work on this book.
then, i have a query you might able to respond.
I am just about to develop a CMS portal based on webparts.
until there all my planning looks just dandy, but obviosly my PM thinks it will be better (actually is imposing this to me... :( )
if we could be able to nest funcionality of the webparts.
I said yes no problem!just inheriting from other webparts..it will be fine..., but NO!. he wants the user to be able to nest webparts.
moving away from google like columns page layout, he want me to get a set of webparts which can get more funcionality into.
He says he's seen it in sharepoint.
Would i be able to do it implementing then in the render contents of the main webpart?.
Any pointers,
Thanks in advance
