Default Why Can't I get CSS to load ?

Hi - Well day 2 and I have the whole of claudia's kids pretty well functioning inside a 2.0 code base - no mean feat !

But i can not get my default css file to load. The template. php has the base_url call to the css/default.css correct.

The new 2.0 code however confuses me in that it has an htaccess file in both system and application. The book calls for an htacess file in root as well. You can't open those inside system and application. But the one for root is given in the book and the downloadable code. The CI install advice suggests that you delete the ones for system and application. this made no difference. I checked apache to make certain that the mod_rewrite function was working ..

Bottom line I don't think it is an htaccess issue - because the header image is showing up - although product images are not.

I think it more likely something with how I am calling the css file.

What am I screwing up here ?

Many thanks vincej

Thumbs up

Problem solved - essentially, even though I gad taken the code from the book, somehow the <?php echo base_url() ?> had gotten screwed up upon rendering. Luckily I use Dreamweaver so I coudl see the rendered live code. If you don't have dreamweaver use Firebug from firefox to see live code.
