Default Flat File Source Editor - anyone seen this?

There is no info on this I could find in the book. There is "External Column" and
"Output Column". What should this look like? What it currently shows is Column0 on the left, and Column 0 on the right. Would it ever be different, and what is the purpose of the Flat File Source Editor?
