Default Clustering vs. Mirroring

I'm in the process of upgrading from SQL2008 to 2012.

I've been extremely satisfied using a mirrored set with witness for high availability.

Page 514 states, "In some cases, database mirroring may be a better choice instead of clustering for high availability."

Given all the hoops you have to jump through for clustering WHEN IS CLUSTERING EVER A BETTER SOLUTION?????

The only benefit to clustering I can see is making more money for Microsoft.

What am I missing?
