Default Adventure works database not compatible

I have the Professional Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services 2012 with MDX and DAX. I have downloaded the express edition of sql server management studio 2012 as i can not locate the enterprise or development versions anywhere. However although I can download the adventure works DW sample database from the code for the relevant chapter 2 in the book I am unable to attach or import any of the files that come with the analysis services multidimensional tutorial. I keep on getting messages like the one below. Is it because I am using an express version of sql server 2012 ? Microsoft tell me that they no longer provide software for 2012 developer edition. I could download sql server management studio 2016 developer but I cannot find a wrox book that covers 2016. What should I do? Help!! I have spent a lot of money on a book I cannot use
