I'm working in the Exporting to Excel section of chapter 8. I'm not using the AdventureWorks database, but rather the reporting database here at work.

When I run the package, I get the following error:
'Error at Data Flow Task [Excel Destination [16]]: Column "status" cannot convert between unicode and non-unicode string data types.' This message repeats for all string type fields. I've gone so far as to try the data conversion transformation.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am reading p. 61 of the book "Expert SQL Server 2005 Integration Services" and it says there is a 255-character limitation when extracting cells and the excel 97-2005 provider is used. It also says this limitation has been overcome in the Office 2007 provider.
