Typically we put a copy of the final code into the download. This is in case you have trouble following the steps when creating your own project that matches the code.
Ideally you would create the code described in Chapter 1 (starting on pg 28) from scratch. You can then check your work against the sample download. This helps quickly resolve things where someone accidentally mis-types a sample. If the download works, then you know that what you've done following the steps is missing something and its easier to resolve on your own.
