At this point you might be better off asking the jQuery UI forums/lists. It's been awhile since I've used it.

Or as a workaround you could just use the jQuery and jQuery UI that are bundled at https://github.com/metajack/profxmpp along with the code.

I am on the forums now...it's so close to working, in a basic sense..then I need to map the accounts to user accounts in the app, then find a way to save messages...

Ah, the life of a graduate student...sigh...

It's fun though, and I love your book...a true life saver...
