Downloads and chapter 3, 4 updates
The downloads are now available on Wrox.com in addition to codeplex:
http://www.wrox.com/WileyCDA/WroxTit...-DOWNLOAD.html
And we'll be providing a PDF with the corrected versions of chapters 3 and 4 for you to download very soon. Thank you to Paul Galvin for suggesting that.

Jim,
This book is terrible. I will be returning it to the book shop which in itself is a major inconvenience. Even the updates for chapter 3 you posted are difficult to follow and miss steps. I spent $60 thinking I was going to get a detailed walk through of some workflows. These walk-throughs have to be bullet proof to be of value to the novice. I struggled for several hours and managed to fill in many of the blanks and errors in your updates myself but have had enough now. I am going to avoid Wrox books in the future. I cannot utilise the code samples as I am using a hosted sharepoint environment and don't have admin access. Anyway, I shouldn't have to reverse engineer an explanation to the solution as pointed out by another post. It completely defeats the object of buying the book. Not happy.
Nice idea, very badly implemented.
Jonathan.

Agree with Jonathan
When I saw the posted pdfs of chapters 3 and 4, I thought, "FINALLY!, maybe now I can begin to follow". Thankfully I did not any waste time and instead went directly to the place where I'd been completely held up before: page 47, Perform Initiatlizations. NOTHING CHANGED!!! Steps 1, 2 and 3 are as vague and unhelpful as before.
I'm done with Wrox.

Chapter 3: Confirm Three Empty Task Lists ?
all righty... I THINK I figured out Chapter 3 finally.
But can someone who has done the Chapter 3 examples successfully
Please confirm:
- New hire On-boarding task has 3 items
- The IT, AP & Security Tasks don't get any Data loaded in them
Is this correct, the workflow is attached to New hire List and the workflow
adds 3 items to the On-Boarding task but nothing to the other 3 tasks: IT,AP & Security.
Thanks for any feedback, Ch 4 seems to be going OK..

Chapters 3 & 4 done
I'm a fair developer and with the notes I was able to set-up and debug the solutions armed with only the corrections and this forum.
If you are stuck I'm happy to e-mail screen captures and what not. englee @ ebsi.com
Anything I should know about Chapter 5?
Thanks, Eric from Rockville, MD
