Default about backup and restor databse

hi expert
i asked several question about the create back up database (SQL SERVER 2000) and restor it inside the C#.NET language but i dont get a udeful answer
i wanna to know what is the bets way or usual way for this purpose?

i usually use backup sql query and i execute it inside my application
but i dont know why in restor database my appliaction broken down and i forced to restart my program

realy there is no any one who created backup from SqlServer database file from C#.net ?

i heared about SqlSMO and SQLDmo for action on database but i not found a good explain about these two classes
