Default can anyone help me with some technical code?

Hi i am doing a project which requires to identify malicious data in tcp/ip packets and to identify them....

i got an idea to capture the webaddress string and parse it into different parts and validate them for any illegal activity.

can anyone help me how to sort out this problem...if any one...can you please give me sample code....to parse two strings and compare them with other...

thanks-ashok

That sounds more like you are dealing with bytes than strings. I suggest you go back to whoever gave you the project (I'm assuming this is a course assignment) and ask for more details.

Neither do you define what in your project 'malicious data' or 'illegal activity' looks like, so we can hardly be expected to write example code for you.

Hello you are correct this is actually my course assignment...i am trying to findout attacks like sql injection, ftp attacks and http attacks...these types of attacks data will flow in tcp packets....

so a short idea is to capture the string that goin through the networking and to analyze for any malicious code....i didn't understand what you mean by i am dealing with bytes more than dealing with strings....

thanks for your response-ashok
