Default report generation with crystal reports

As a part of the project that i am doing, i have to make an MIS system wherein
there is need for generation of reports from within the database.
I'm using ASP (w/ Vbscript) as the frontend and SQL Server as the backend and since
i'm a complete novice in this, i have no idea as to how to go about it. Have heard it somewhere
that Crystal Reports may be used as a tool for report generation but how exactly that works with asp
is something i havent been able to figure out.
All help would be tremendously appreciated.
