Hi Vijay, Madhu,

i agree with you vijay .. querystring is not safe .. i myself have never used it to pass sensitive information .. i still think SESSION method is best... by the way what does "AFAIK" in your above post ...

and madhu your info about disabling session variables is stunning .. i am going to try it presently .. since the system here uses IE 6 .. lets see what happens ..

Regards,

Sudhan.

Hi madhu,

In my IE 6 , the entire tab was disabled ...

You will see that if you UNCHECK the first checkbox "override automatic cookie handling" (which was unchecked by default) in my case automatically unchecks the checkbox you mentioned

and well i am not getting any troubles with session variables at all ...

hmm vijay did you try this out ???

Sudhan.

Sudhan,

AFAIK = As Far As I Know
AFAICS = As Far As I Could See
IMO = In My Opinion

I too have learnt all these from here, but just guessed all that on my own. Still many available there, will learn as you go along.;)

I am yet to try that settings here with mine, as I don't have time to locate where I have those sites of mine backed up. Will let you all know once I see anything wierd. But for sure, Madhu, it is something to really test with. Let me see what I observe.

Cheers!

Richard York recently posted a link to this site in another thread: http://people.kldp.org/~eunjea/jargon/

It will tell you what IIRC, AFAIK, AFAICS, IMO, IMHO etc etc means....

Thats a COOL site ... thanks ...

I could not solve still..even.. i don't know how to pass one site to an other site ..
i mean if (power) user connect and request for info which is stored on other site ...how i can pass site password for admin area and then dbs user and password ... for loading authorized (asp) areas .. .

And using vb than asp cause is vb app reads data from an equipment (control system) so local area users get data on vb client application but network (internet) users need web ...
simply ... vb app reads data from equipment ...

( VB app use some DLLs and Exe file to read data through LPT and COM ports from Control System , Contorl system handle some valvs and some other machincal equipments .... )

regarding to encryption i am already using some methods to secure data...

>> how to update web dbs against data changings? ....

Hope picture is more clear now....

Dear Abdul Salam you can use session variables to store the value of the person who is login into the site and you can use this information any where in your site
