I hade made an application of a intratnet mean which runs on a local server inside a company. In this application the admin ca assign the task to his employees. And employees can see those tasks on their own systems. But the problem is that when admin assign a task to his employee then the employee didnt find his task as long as he refresh the page. So I found the solution that when a task is assing to any employee then a pop up message box is appear on the screen which tel him that there is a new task for you
But the problem is that how cam I do this ?

A meta refresh would be the way I would do this, something like:

<META HTTP-EQUIV='Refresh' CONTENT='10; URL=pageName.asp'>

would refresh the page every 10 seconds

NOTE: Some search engines penalize pages that use a Refresh of a few seconds or less.

Assume that if user not open the page then how can I send him the latest task

so I want to make and invitaion type thing in which I assign the IP address to it and it send the message to that IP address that there is a new task for you

If you could keep all that data ready,like the IP address or the computer name and the message that you would like to popup on the remote PC, you can probably use NET SEND to send the data as a message to that terminal.

For NET SEND to work you should have MESSENGER service up and running.

Syntax - NET SEND {name | * | /DOMAIN[:name] | /USERS} message

Eg : Net Send RemotePC_Name_OR_IPAddress "Message_in_Quotes"

You may use Windows Shell object to send that from your ASP script.
