yes, and my home page just to be sure. it weird cos it works in IE absolutely fine

Pragma only works for IE browsers, FF doesn't recognize it.

In addition to the script you have, add this line of code to support firefox:
Response.AddHeader("Cache-Control", "no-cache")

it didnt like the code!

i changed it to:

<%Response.AddHeader "Cache-Control", "no-cache"%>

and still it wont work

yeah the code you gave - where should i place it? i presumed that it needed the <%...%> around it and put with the pragma code. the error message said that the parenthesis were not allowed

This throws an error?
