Default Get 500 error on all .asp pages.

I'm using iis 5.0 on a remote server.

The web server serves up htm pages just fine. Any time I try to open a .asp page, I get

"The page cannot be displayed
There is a problem with the page you are trying to reach and it cannot be displayed.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please try the following:

Open the loncrmdbd0001:65 home page, and then look for links to the information you want.
Click the Refresh button, or try again later.

HTTP 500 - Internal server error
Internet Information Services

"

(I have already turned friendly messages off my browser).
Now here's the unusual bit - this message appear if it is a genuine .asp page, if it is a .asp page with no vbscript in it, and it also appears even if the .asp page I specify does not exist!
Could somebody shed some light on this situation?

Regards

In IE goto Tools --> Internet Options click on the advanced tab and uncheck Show Friendly HTTP error messages. Now hit the page. See what error is coming up.

I have already done this. The message I enclosed was from a non-friendly browser, so to speak. As you can see, there aren't any vbscript lines quoted or line numbers identified. Please help.

Is this just ASP pages from your server?

If yes, then the issue is in your ASP Server processor. Look in the Application and System Event logs to see if there is more information there.

If no then the issue is in your security settings. It is possible some security setting is blocking ASP pages from displaying.

Hi. I am having the exact same problem, and my event log is full of errors and warning regarding COM+, and as of now, i can't manually start the "COM+ System Application" from the service manager. It fails with an error code.

Any solutions to this problem?

Best regards,
Christopher
