Default Firebird Database Connection

Does anybody know anything about an open source database called Firebird. I am looking for things like connection strings with ASP, and even if it's compatible with ASP.

Thanks

Hi Mike,

Here's what I can tell you: according to one of my AOL Instant Messenger buddies, Firebird is actually an internet browser that doesn't support the RealPlayer or Flash formats natively. As far as compatibility with ASP, I can't really help you there. However, you can find the link for Firebird at www.download.com. Type in Firebird and you should be able to see the contact info for the company who made the product (it's on the product page).

Cheers,

No Firebird is not a browser, you are thinking of FireFox.

here is the connection String I use in VB
DBConn.Open "DRIVER=Firebird/InterBase(r) driver; UID=Program; PWD=1program2; DBNAME=" & ServerIP & ":" & DatabasePath & ";"

should work for you.
