Default Changing File Extensions

I am trying to write an ASP script that does the following. It selects an html file from a drop down menu. Once it selects the html document it changes the extension file from .html to .asp. It then must add a presentation number and slide number to each .asp page. The file is a power point presentation exported out as html. Any suggestions/recommendations would be recommended. We are running the .asp files on a ASP.NET platform. Thanks, Terrell in Bosnia
