Default suppress columns during runtime

hi all,
please anyone give idea/solution for the following
i have 6 columns in crystal reports and at runtime user needs to select the columns to be displayed in the report.
suppose if a user selects col1 and col5 then these two columns only displayed in the report and the width should be adjusted, similarly user can select any combinations of columns and the column width should expand/compress accordingly.
question is 1. can a user select the columns to be displayed in the report thro prompt
2. if so then the column width could be adjusted?

Thanks in Advance
Akash
