Default Missing report field! - probably something simple

Hi all,

I've inherited a very simple report (about my 3rd-ever Crystal report), showing about 3 lines per person (name, address, phone #'s, animal name, animal tag #). All fields are selected from one simple view which joins a Citizens table to an Animals table. The problem is, the animal license # isn't printing (or even displaying in the report viewer when run from my VB app.) I'm maintaining the report from Visual Studio 2003.

It isn't because the field is outside the margins or anything; I placed a text object containing "X" just before it, and that prints OK, and the license # field doesn't print even when moved to the middle of the Details section.

The view extracts the data just fine, as I can see in Query Analyzer.

A co-worker said he ran into something similar, and thinks he remembers setting a "flow" option somehow, but can't remember where it was, and I can't find anything like this in any of the right-click options.

One odd thing is that when I right-click / Report / Sort Records..., and remove the sorting by this field, it prints. However, this solution would require a change to the view to sort the fields by license #.

I've even experimentally changed the view to extract the license # again, "... AS DUMMY,", but the dummy field doesn't work, either.

I'd really appreciate any ideas anyone has... hopefully it's something stupidly simple. Thanks...
