Default Stubborn Dreamweaver MX table heights!!

I am trying to use a table with Dreamweaver, and although in Layout mode the text and the table looks perfect, when it is resolved in IE the heights of the table are messed up. It looks like some of the cells want to take up a lot more space than they need (although the text remains small). I have tried the clearing heights option to no avail. Also setting the height doesnt seem to work. Has anyone else encountered this? I can send the file if it is needed

I have narrowed the problem down to using the <blockquote> to indent text. Is there any other means of indentation that will not affect the height and width adversly?

Layout Mode is an evil feature in Dreamweaver and you are far better off not using it. IMO, it should be removed from the package, as it will generate code for you that looks nice in Dreamweaver, but won't correctly run in browsers.

You're better off creating the tables yourself in design view or code view, while testing in a couple of browsers.

If you still can't get it to work, can you post the relevant parts of your code?

Cheers,

Imar

change the height of all cells(rows) to 1(not 0)
then make a new (empty)row and make the height of it 100%
This is my private experimant while facing such problems.
Hope this could help you...

What's this Layout Mode thing about? The only views I know of are Design View, Code View and Split View. How do you even access Layout Mode? If someone could clear this up, that'd be great.

Believe me: you don't want to know.

If you do insist, try Help | Using Dreamweaver | Index | Layout Mode | Overview.
