I think the image on page 614 is incorrect. The page from the code download shows something very different from the image.

If you want, you can file an errata for this problem here. I could do it as well, but I think you have more sample code and proof available than I have....

Cheers,

Imar

Hi,
My problems with Building Blocks still persist.
I have contacted Wrox as you suggested, twice, but it seems to be a waste of time. I have now waited three weeks for a response to my queries. They have acknowledged my email three times stating they have sent my inquery to a higher level, but do not send any infomation.
My ref no. is 53BC163773.
Can you use your influence to push them along.
I must say I am very disappointed with their apparentlack of interest, it makes me wonder whether it's worth buying anymore of their books.
I asked for a contact point for Mr. Todd Marks, who I understand wrote this section of the book, but received no reply.
I think I must be spoilt, your response to queries is usually 24 hrs.
But this is now becomming a bit of a sick joke.

Regards

Terry s

Hi Terry,

I must admit that I have not heard of your requests until now. Ill follow up on that for you right away.

In the mean time, lets follow up via email, since I dont want to post email addresses for other folks here on P2P.

Terry - Todd Marks here. sorry for the delay getting involved, I will shoot you an email as well.

Have you been able to get blockMain.asp working? Imar was correct that you need to compare individual pages to see where the differences lie. If you use the blockMain.asp page from the download does everything work?

If your buildingBlock.asp, blockContent.asp, and blockMain.asp pages are working as expected then the
index.asp page should fire without problems.... with one exception. On the index page itself, it loads blockNav.asp into the navigation iFrame which then populates the rest of the blocks. In the body tag this line is in index.asp:

onLoad="this.open('blockNav.asp?sectionID=18', 'navigation')"

You need to make sure you have the navigation iFrame labeled and you are passing in the correct sectionID (It could vary based on any additions or deletions you have made to your database. This ID is from the Sections_Nav table in the row that defines your main page)
