I need some help regarding how to use ASP .NET in dreamweaver MX 6.0 (Student version). I struggled to get a page working last night (04/Sept/03) and was very pleased when it did, however I uploaded it to the net and it failed to work. OK I thought back to the drawing board, and reloaded the page in Dreamweaver, only to discover that the thing no longer worked. The deny anonymous user I had put in web.config for my members directory no longer worked, and the login page only showed the code and not the actual page. I am at a complete loss here and would appreciate any help (PS I am new at ASP .NET)

Hi David,

Can you define "no longer worked"? Does the page show up correctly in Dreamweaver or does it look messed up there as well?

When you have just ASPX code in the source of your page, this usually indicates a problem with IIS. Check that IIS is configured to run ASPX pages.

There is a file called aspnet_regiis that reregisters the ASP.NET Framework with IIS. Take a look here for more info.

Thanks for that. I re-installed the .NET 1.1 SDK and the code was viewed as an aspx page. Thank you for your help.

The did not work was only the code was shown as you suggested above. I now need to get my host to activate .net on my web space - what fun!!!
